What is the Pilates method

Pilates is much more than just a method....

It is a philosophy of training achieved through the fusion of mind and body, so that the movement is effective, balanced and elegant. This technique is named after its creator, Joseph Hubertus Pilates, who, over seventy years ago, defended the idea that strengthening the force center (powerhouse) of each individual could achieve free movement of the rest of the body. It is a system of over 300 exercises, focused on improving flexibility, strength, body control and breathing. The Pilates method is a comprehensive fitness regime where the body is worked as a whole, from the deepest to the most peripheral muscles, where the mind and body are both involved.

The key to its success lies in it being a fitness regime that allows you to get fit, heal wounds, prevent them and train in an effective, different and complete way.

It is a method that focuses on a new approach to physical activity where POSTURAL REHABILITATION and an openness to BODY AND MIND practices prevail.

We will make use of tools for enhancing and improving the client, such as bands, fitball, fit roller, magic circle, etc.
